There has been for a long time the notion that these types of roofs are "cheap and nasty". Not any more! The word is cost efficient. With the use all steel construction, in particular roll formed purlins these roofs are coming back into fashion not only for commercial work but residential jobs as well. These roofs are fast to build, don't need expensive flashings and there are no ridges hips or valleys to give trouble in years to come. Typically the residential varieties can have flat suspended ceilings or simply just follow the slope.
