Graphical Construction Glossary >> Doors. >> Door Hinges >> Adjustable Butt Hinges
This page is just to introduce these hinges and it is an by way of an introduction for myself as well, as I have never come across them. The hinges are adjustable in the vertical direction plus or minus 2.5mm and in sideways movement that is in and out towards the door stop a distance of p plus or minus 2mm. When you consider that the gap around a door should be as close as 3mm then almost the same amount again should be sufficient to correct any mis-fitting.
These hinges are said to have three dimesional adjustment. That is SIDE, WIDTH and HEIGHT. The solid part of the hinge is fixed to the door jamb and the moving leaf is fixed to the door.
I am not about to waffle on here as I have about as much idea as anyone else as to how effective these hinges are and if they are worthwhile. If you have worked with and fixed these hinges then I would really appreciate any feedback you may have on them. Contact me on my contact form.
