Titanic Bar

by Kerrie
(NSW)

My husband and I lived with his parents when we were first married and his dad was forever pottering around in his garage come workshop, building something or other. After spending weeks in the shed, on his new project, he finally announced that the "new bar" was finished. While me and my mum in law dusted off the cooking sherry etc,{none of us were drinkers really} to adorn the new bar, six neighbours helped him haul his pride and joy up to the house only to find that the bar was too big to fit through the doorway!

The bar never did get into the house. I think it ended up as a workbench back in his shed.

It's always nice to spend time on a personal project, even it will not end up being used. It's still great!

Nice one Kerrie, half way through the story I felt it coming. In close situations like this I always cross my fingers and say under my breath "hope it fits"
I bet it was thirsty work for the neighbours too!
